Years ago, as a young mother to two, I began to feel curious about natural living and sustainability. I was feeling overwhelmed by commercialism and the burden of “stuff”. My son had very sensitive skin, and my daughter was struggling with acne, so I began looking into clean and safe low-waste products for our family. I soon found out that most commercially made products are not nearly as safe as something made from natural ingredients at home, plus, they usually all came in single use plastics. At that time, I decided to research how to make bar soap at home, and ditch the detergent body wash you can find in stores.
I scoured the Internet for any information I could find about natural self-care and home products, and dove head first into soap making. Cold process soap making lead me to formulating natural skincare, and even candles. It was obvious that I had a serious passion for creating essentials for my family from nature, and with my own hands. Plus, the products I could make were much higher quality and cheaper than what I could find anywhere else!
I took to the Internet to share my hobby and knowledge with my community, and eventually, our local artisan co-op reached out to stock our products on their shelves, and we began our own handmade botanical self-care business locally and within our home state.
Fast forward to today (January 2025), and we are venturing into new territory, and sharing our knowledge and passion with others that appreciate nature, and clean living like we do.
